Bespoke Utility Room

This bespoke utility room was designed and built to combine high functionality with timeless style. The client provided detailed design plans, and my role was to bring their vision to life with precise craftsmanship and attention to detail. The result is a beautifully balanced space that delivers both practicality and visual impact.

Every element of this project was crafted to ensure durability, ease of use, and harmony with the client’s existing interior design.

• Internals: Constructed from Egger Grey Bardolino Oak MFC, chosen for its textured grain, durability, and warm oak tone that adds depth to the cabinetry.
• Exterior: Doors, frames, and panels were professionally spray-painted in Paint & Paper Library Scarlet N’ Rust, producing a rich, deep red tone with a satin finish that complements the natural oak internals and pale flooring.
• Layout: The cabinetry provides a balanced mix of tall storage, open shelving, and worktop space. One of the tall units was specifically designed to allow the client’s robot vacuum cleaner to dock and charge automatically with the door open, ensuring seamless integration of technology within the design.

  • Open shelving with fabric storage baskets for flexible organisation.
  • Deep ceramic sink with solid surface countertop.
  • Wall-mounted drying rack for functional laundry use.
• Wall Panelling: Matching panelling was installed to continue the design language throughout the space, tying the cabinetry and wall finishes together into one cohesive aesthetic.

The completed utility room is a perfect example of how practical design can be executed with elegance. The combination of the bold Scarlet N’ Rust finish, textured oak interiors, and subtle lighting creates a warm and inviting workspace. Every element was built to the client’s supplied design, delivered with precision and a focus on long-term functionality.
